What to Expect
If you are wondering what to expect from a therapeutic sound healing session in East Sussex, our two-hour group sessions in Arlington combine gentle somatic practices with an immersive Himalayan singing-bowl sound journey.
The experience is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your body and explore deep rest, relaxation and nervous-system regulation in a calm, supportive setting.

Come as you are
Therapeutic Sound Healing is a two-hour, carefully held group experience combining gentle somatic practices with an extended Himalayan singing-bowl sound journey.
You do not need any previous experience of meditation, sound healing or somatic work. There is no pressure to talk, share your story or explain what you are feeling. You are simply invited to arrive as you are.
Arriving and Settling
We begin by creating time to arrive, settle and reconnect with the body.
Emma guides gentle grounding, breath and somatic awareness practices designed to help you notice how you are feeling in the present moment. These practices are not about forcing relaxation, but about creating space to slow down and become more aware of what your body may need.
You are always encouraged to work at your own pace and to adapt anything that does not feel comfortable for you.

The Sound Journey
Once the group has settled, Elizabeth leads an extended sound experience using Himalayan singing bowls and chimes.
The bowls create layers of tone, resonance and vibration that can be heard and physically experienced throughout the body. As the sound unfolds, many people find that their breathing naturally slows, muscular tension softens and the mind becomes quieter.
There is nothing you need to achieve during the sound journey. Some people experience deep relaxation, others notice emotions, memories, physical sensations or imagery, while some simply enjoy resting within the sound.
Every experience is different and you will be guided throughout.
Therapeutic and Somatic Support
The session is informed by therapeutic and somatic understanding, recognising the close relationship between body, mind and emotion.
Rather than relying on words alone, somatic approaches invite us to notice physical sensations, patterns of tension and the body's responses to stress. Sound provides a gentle, non-verbal way of working alongside this awareness.
This is not a counselling or psychotherapy session and you will never be expected to disclose personal experiences. The intention is to create a supportive environment in which you can explore rest, awareness, regulation and reconnection in your own way.

Time to integrate
After the sound journey, we allow time to return slowly.
There is space to sit quietly, notice how you feel and gently reconnect with your surroundings before leaving.
You may wish to journal or simply remain still for a few moments.
There is no expectation to share your experience with the group.
Comfort during your session
Everything you need to settle comfortably is provided. Each place is prepared with a yoga mat, additional cushioning, a blanket and a weighted eye mask, allowing you to rest comfortably throughout the sound journey.
If you know that you need a little more physical support or have a favourite cushion, blanket or other comfort item, you are very welcome to bring this with you.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring some water. You may also wish to bring a journal if you enjoy making notes or reflecting after the session.

A Space to Simply Be.
Therapeutic Sound Healing is an invitation to step away from the demands of everyday life and spend two hours listening — not only to sound, but also to yourself.
There is no right way to experience a session.
Sometimes the most therapeutic thing we can do is create enough space for the body and mind to soften, settle and simply be.
